Italian Summers Design, the story behind

Claudio Assandri and Lisa van de Pol

Claudio, a Roman Artist and writer, and Lisa a social media manager, photographer and passionate Italia lover from a tiny little place in The Netherlands cross paths in Rome, .. yes, yes… all roads lead to Rome, you know that! They start talking about Italian life and creative ideas. Lisa comes up with the idea to throw their shared passion for Italy and creativity in a big spagettipan and make a completely new recipe, named Italian Summers Design.

Design with a passion for Italy

Italian Summers Design, Art and Ceramics is all about two creative people with a great passion for Italy, Italian life and all those little things  that make them happy! Like Lazy Mozzarella’s, Funny Vespa’s and Happy Cinquecentos.  But also driving a 1969  Alfa Romeo Giulia coupe on the Amalfi Coast, sipping a Martini on Capri or exploring the rolling hills of Tuscany in a mint-green Fiat Panda.

They just Love Italia

Tired of all the touristy bells and whistles of Italy that are for sale on every corner of the street, Claudio and Lisa decide to change something about that and create their own Italian line where they both can put creativity and their passion for Italy. An original line where of course the typical Italian topics bla bla bla but just with a different twist. They create Italian Style printed t-shirts, handpainted ceramic plates, paintings and prints.

Teamwork (change word, boring!!!)

Claudio and Lisa are both creative souls where in Claudio is the true artist, he deorates the ceramics, visual concepts and paintings of Italian Summers Design Lifestyle, in addition, he is also a sculptor. You might know that every artist likes to be busy with his artwork and would rather not deal with commercializing it. Here Lisa jumps in, she loves everything about social media and designs the ideas for the illustrations. With her background in fashion and love for Italy you will often find an Italian feminine touch in the creations.

We just like ‘Made in Italy’ and that’s what we do!

During our walks trough Italy and especially the larger cities such as Rome, we were surprised about the incredible mess that is offered to tourists! Cheap plastic things that fall apart from misery. Our biggest annoyance is that 90 percent of all the items is not even manufactured in Italy.

Our own collection, unique artworks made with a smile

That’s when the idea came to make our own collection. Our items are all made in Italy by Claudio, who is a real artist. Lisa comes up with the designs. So, if you are looking for something original from italy and about Italy,…you found it!

The lovitalia collection now consists only the first  lines … as I said, the paint is still wet!

Italian Summers | A cheerful line in which bella donna’s enjoy the most beautiful summers on the Amalfi Coast, Positano, Tuscany and of course Roma

La Dolce Vita | the name says it all, a line with a link to the typical  scenery of the La Dolce Vita from the sixties

Roman Holyday |blab la

From Italy with love | bla bla

Saluti from Capri |
