In need of some Italian medicine

In early September, I just wanted to go Italy, wanted a getaway. Alone. I needed new inspiration and a different environment. I needed some Italian Medicine! I had figured out that I wanted to go to Rome  for several days and from there I would see where I would go, ….somewhere to the South of Italy, but that was it,..I had no idea,….I was going where the wind would blow me.

View on the Pantheon

I jumped, actually without too many expectations, on a plane to Rome.  My B&B had the best location ever,….when I came out of the courtyard I the Pantheon right in front if me! What a great location! I had some wonderful days in Rome, visited old friends and met new friends, and saw Rome with a  fresh perspective now.!

Spanisch Steps revisited

Where 17 years ago I was excited to be on the Spanish Steps, now I didn’t know how fast I had to go away from it  now (after I had been in a few off my favorite shops of course) ,.. it was sooooo busyyy. 17 years ago Spanish Steps and Via Condotti  were the on top of my list! All the must-do’s I had seen 17 years ago…….WHAT?!! The last time I had seen Rome was about 17 years ago,…how could this be possible,…17 years!!! All this years I went to Italy several times a year, but why not Rome I ask myself?!

Doing my paparazzo thing

Now, I visited the small secluded alleys, looked around corners  where nobody went and went into forbidden courtyards. I looked for little secret shops and I let the world pass by from all kinds of terraces in different neighborhoods  Of course always with my camera near me,……I was doing the paparazzo thing!   Overall, for me a nice renewed acquaintance with Rome.

From Rome down to the South of Italy

I had booked the B&B for a several days and then I would move on to the South of Italy. No sooner said than done. I went to South of Italy but I knew, from the moment I left Rome, that I would come back soon after my trip to the South. Enjoy Rome a litlle bit more! What I did not know that Rome some nice surprises for me was in store. CURIOUS??? Read about it HERE, the Rome apartment!

Destination Ischia and Procida Island

The trip to the South of Italy was to the Islands Ischia and Procida, … .both Islands that I know very well. Ischia feels to me like a second home, I enjoyed the boatride, Southern temperament and great seafood. If I leave Ischia I always feel a little sad, don’t like to leave it. Anyway, I did not go home … I went back to Rome! Enjoy a little bit more!
